Street photography is an ethos –
“Ethos” is a term that originates from ancient Greek, meaning “character” and is used to describe the guiding beliefs or ideals that characterize a community, nation, or ideology. In the context of rhetoric, which is the art of persuasion, ethos refers to the credibility or trustworthiness of the speaker or writer. It’s one of the three modes of persuasion identified by the philosopher Aristotle, along with pathos (emotional appeal) and logos (logical argument). In this rhetorical sense, when someone has ethos, they effectively convey authority, credibility, and reliability, making their argument more persuasive.
