Stop Depending on Location for Your Photography

What’s popping people? It’s Dante.

I’m currently out here photographing in this mundane park, and I’m thinking today about why you shouldn’t be dependent on your location for your photography.

When I’m photographing out here, I’m looking up at the sky as the content that’s within my frame. I’m looking down beneath my feet at the leaves and the way the light casts upon things.

I’m finding infinite fascination and curiosity within the mundane world around me.

And so don’t be dependent on a story.

Don’t be dependent on your location.

Don’t be dependent on something external from you and your photography.

Actually cultivate that inner curiosity.

Because when you become curious about the world around you, you’ll actually start photographing.

You don’t need to go somewhere else.

You don’t need to wait for something interesting to happen.

You can just look at what’s already around you.

Right now, I’m looking up at the light peering between the clouds and making some photographs.

That’s really it.

Find curiosity within the mundane.

Photograph wherever you are right now.
