King

The English word “king” originates from the Proto-Germanic root “kunją,” which means kin, family, or clan, and the suffix “-ingaz,” which is used to form derivatives of nouns with the sense of ‘belonging to, coming from, descending from’

This etymological background reflects the king’s role as a leader emerging from and representing a group of people with common ancestry or lineage. The evolution of the word from Proto-Germanic to Old English as “cyning” and then to Middle English as “kyng” before becoming “king” in modern English showcases the linguistic and societal changes over time.

Monochrome photos

The joy of photographing in black-and-white is that it opens up more possibilities for your photography. I find that every intricate detail around me becomes something that I can uplift and abstract using the medium. Oftentimes I would get caught up in looking for extravagant scenes and something incredible to photograph. This would lead me to making less pictures at the end of the day.

The goal is to find more opportunity to make more pictures with whatever mundane life is presented to you.

Pack a small bag

I think it’s good to have a small bag with you when you’re out for the entire day. It’s good to store your phone, camera and other essentials like a water bottle and maybe a hat for the midday sun. I also appreciate that I can bring my selfie stick with the 360 camera in case there’s an opportunity for me to use it. It’s nice to have a bag full of tools to use throughout the day and never have to return back inside until the sun sets.

Hydration thoughts

I’ve recently been making it a point to drink at least 2 L of water before I leave and start my day. The idea is that it’s good to overcompensate before you head out because there may be less opportunity to drink water on the go.

GREAT.

Nothing less than greatness
