Gym Thoughts

I find that creating my own home gym has been the greatest thing for my fitness. No need to commute to an external place to get my pump in. Being able to wake up and hit the weights right away beats any public gym simply because of the time you save. I believe you don’t even need a gym as you can just do stretches and body weight exercises at home. The difference is I can get my lifting done in 15-30 minutes max as opposed to the full hour-two hours people spend going to the gym. I can leave a barbell fully racked overnight and just wake up to hit a one rep max if I want. The only benefit I can think of going to a gym is for the hot sauna?

Fat VS Calories

The strange think I’ve noticed about weight loss is people’s obsession with counting calories. This doesn’t seem right because it has nothing to do with fat tissue. The goal is to lose fat, not “burn calories.” This is why any form of cardio for weight loss is obsolete. Fasting ironically makes you less hungry. The moment you eat something during the day is the start of your hunger. This is why I choose to skip breakfast, lunch, and only eat one carnivore meat at night of at least 2 pounds of beef.

We have limited energy

I’m starting to realize that sleeping 8 hours isn’t enough. You actually need 10-12 hours to be at peak performance. The more you walk, the more tired you will be. Running is silly because you strain your body and don’t feel well the next day. I think all runners secretly lie to themselves that they enjoy it.

Collective VS Individual

Perhaps being selfish is a virtue because when you improve yourself it can benefit the collective as a whole. You have to change yourself first before you can benefit everyone else.

Identity?

You are not special. You’re not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You’re the same decaying organic matter as everything else. We’re all part of the same compost heap. We’re all singing, all dancing crap of the world. – Tyler Durden

Be more friendly

The modern day trend is certainly towards antisocial behavior one way or another. I don’t even think the pandemic has anything to do with it, but it certainly doesn’t help. When you’re on the street smile more, be louder, and engage with the people around you.
