It’s important to go out during the “golden hours” when shooting color. I’ve always had my most success when hitting the streets when the sun is setting. Surely you can photograph during all conditions, but color works best when the light is right!
Making a photo that has strong foreground, middle ground, background relationship is one of the hardest things to accomplish in street photography. It helps to study the lay of the land where you shoot. Just keep going back to the same locations time and time again as much as you need.
Street photography is all about repetition. From hitting the streets everyday to recognizing the patterns of human behavior, a lot of practice must be set aside to repeating the same thing over and over again.
