Tesla Cybertruck

I am very fascinated with the Tesla Cybertruck. A self-driving, off-road, military style truck by Tesla? Hell yes.

Faith in the future

Optimism trumps pessimism. The future is bright. We have all the information, technology, and man power to do good things. It’s right at our fingertips. Create the world you want to live in. Let’s all thrive together.

Imagine Philadelphia as Ancient Rome

The beauty of Philadelphia’s architecture always amazes me. Just walk down South Broad Street and take a gander at this structure which is now the Ritz-Carlton. It reminds me of the Pantheon in Rome. I can’t help but imagine what life was like in the past, but we must move forward. Towards a modern-day Rome?

How to Improve Your Street Photography

How to Improve Your Street Photography

Improving your street photography isn’t about buying the latest gear or experimenting with different lenses. It’s about refining your connection to your environment and the people within it. Here are some actionable tips to help elevate your street photography game.

1. Get to Know Your Community

To truly excel in street photography, immerse yourself in your surroundings:

  • Understand the lay of the land: Explore your town, city, or village. Learn where people gather and where interesting interactions occur.
  • Identify key locations: Whether it’s Market Street, the local church, or a bustling riverside, know the places where life unfolds.
  • Serve your community: Picking up trash or engaging in local events can help you connect on a deeper level, making you more attuned to your environment.

Tip: Attend parades, markets, or church services. These are rich opportunities for candid moments.

2. Focus on People, Not Gear

Your camera or lens isn’t what makes a great photo—it’s you. Start simple:

  • Use whatever camera you have: Even a smartphone can capture incredible street moments.
  • Prioritize presence over perfection: Instead of worrying about technical details, focus on observing and reacting to the scenes around you.

3. Find the Choke Points

Great street photography often happens where people naturally converge:

  • Busy intersections, subway entrances, and markets are prime spots.
  • Look for events or gatherings where human stories unfold.

Tip: Timing is everything. Learn when specific locations are at their liveliest.

4. Adapt and Explore

Don’t limit yourself to a single route or neighborhood:

  • Switch up your locations to keep things fresh.
  • Explore different terrains, from city streets to riversides.

“Street photography is an ever-changing landscape. The more you explore, the more you’ll grow.”

5. Be Present and Observant

Street photography is about capturing life as it happens. To improve:

  • Stay curious: Every walk is an opportunity to learn something new.
  • Remain patient: Great shots often come from waiting and watching.

Conclusion

Improvement in street photography comes from experience, observation, and an intimate connection with your surroundings. By focusing on people and places rather than technicalities, you’ll find yourself growing as a photographer—and as a storyteller.

Why Street Photography?

To see the world, interact with life, and create an archive that will last my entire lifetime and beyond

Mental health is physiological

As a teenager I was a fat, depressed, and sad loser because I would sit inside and play video games all day, get no sleep, and eat McDonalds. What I have realized as I get older is that it’s impossible to be sad or depressed when you have the power of 1000 oxen.

Lifting weights, fasting, eating red meat, deep sleep and the fear of God has completely changed my outlook in life. I’m just sharing this because I want to give my personal take on issues I care about that I wish I had the answers to earlier and MAYBE there’s one young man out there that needs to hear it.

If you are sad, try to get yourself up. Start by going for walks. Do some push ups. Then you can become confident and start to smile and say hello to strangers. Stand tall with your head up and shoulders back. Fasting everyday can help remove the toxins from your body if you drink alcohol or smoke. Quit all substances. Only eat one big meal of meat every night. Beef and lamb are the food of demigods. Pork is delicious, fish is for poor people, and chicken will do nothing for you.

After traveling and having a life filled with adventure, I can sit in silence and replay all of my lived experiences on repeat in my head and never break a smile. In the past, I would sit in a dark room with a TV screen glaring back at me, sad and alone. The moral of the story, mental health is one of the biggest scams in modern life for young men. Do NOT go to a therapist. Just go to church and meet your local Pastor, Imam, or Rabbi for guidance. People WANT you to feel sad, docile, and depressed because they are themselves. Mental illness is contagious, so try to avoid sad people at all costs.

you DO NOT need a gym

Go out there and experience the fullest life you can ever dream of. Take the leap and get on a bus, train, or plane. You don’t need to travel far. My favorite mode of transportation is biking. Nothing will be able to break you when you come home with new experiences under your belt. You are in control of your mind and body. Sculpt yourself like marble and focus on your physical self and health. Everything else will fall into place.

Fast all day, lift weights, eat one meal per day of red meat, get at least 10 hours of deep sleep, and pray to God.

Painful repetition

Street photography requires grinding, practice, and repetition

As Louis Pasteur said, “Luck favors the prepared mind.” You have to work very hard to get lucky. You must think and concentrate on good luck. You create positive and optimistic thoughts.

Am I the luckiest photographer or am I working the hardest? I’ve had the opportunity to make a photograph of rainbows 5 different times all across the world. Since my first rainbow shot in Baltimore, I went out there with determination and effort. During my first trip into the rain, I actually had the thought in the back of my head that I will get lucky and see a rainbow on the other side of the storm. In street photography, I believe that anything is possible and you can manifest greatness from the “street gods” here and there. Once opportunity meets your preparedness, you must not stumble and be quick with how you react to the given situation. Photography is visual problem solving and it’s important to be on your toes to solve any problem. When you put your mind to it, anything is possible.

The spontaneous nature of street photography is the most exciting aspect of this practice.
