From here on out I find a much better strategy for my photography is to just live my life and bring the camera along with me. I think a photographer can only dedicate so much of their life to traveling and working on photography projects. It doesn’t seem sustainable to only focus on photography, but it surely yields results if you are dedicated.
Snapshot supremacy
I find the snapshot to be alluring because it allows me to not think too much about composition or technical aspects of photography. I simply go about my life and respond to whatever is in front of me, allowing the chips to fall as they may. It’s much more liberating to not take photography so seriously and just go with the flow. I have no real desire to work on serious social documentary projects, but simply love taking pictures. Snapshotting wherever my curiosity and intuition takes me is a much superior mode of operation.
