I actually believe that we still haven’t hit the limits of photography. I don’t subscribe to the idea that “everything has already been done”

Maybe it’s better to call myself an artist rather than “photographer.” When I hear the word, the first thing that comes to mind is merely camera operation.

I don’t believe in the power of “photos changing the world” but rather that making photos can change your world.

When I’m in my zen zone making photographs, I feel connected with the present moment. There’s no distractions or frivolous matters that I am dealing with in my head. The power of photography is in the eyes of the beholder. It’s up to you to augment your reality and the world around you.

We can become the change we wish to see in the world through the medium itself. Not in some grandiose sense where we think so highly about the work we are making and the impact it will have on other people, but in a selfish sense. We must create new photos without the influence or expectations of anything external. Everything we do derives from within, towards an autotelic approach to creating new art.

Through the process of photographing, I believe that we can exist outside the passage of time.
