Hedonism?

The term “hedonism” comes from the ancient Greek word “ἡδονή” (hēdonē), which means “pleasure.” The concept is rooted in the philosophical belief that pleasure or happiness is the highest good and ultimate aim of human life. This idea has been explored in various forms throughout philosophical history, notably by the ancient Greek schools of thought such as the Cyrenaics and the Epicureans, who emphasized the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain as the essential guide to living a good life. Over time, the term evolved to encompass a broader range of meanings, including in contemporary contexts where it often refers to the pursuit of pleasure in a more general sense.
