Once you find the perfect solution, what’s next?

With street photography, it seems that the perfect solution is the simplest one.

Smaller cameras and smaller file sizes simplifies the process so much that I can now completely stay focused on producing more photos. This is a big deal for me because in the past my process was a lot slower and I would often wait months before reviewing photos I make. Speed is now at the forefront and I am able to both produce and publish work in the same day with no hassle or delay.

Now that I’ve found what works best for me, I want to philosophize more about photography and life in general. Perhaps I’m more interested in video and want to start writing from here. I enjoy using video as a way to flesh out thoughts and share my process instead of sitting at a computer and writing passively. It seems to be the optimal solution for me as I learn more every time I hit record and speak to the GoPro.

I’ve spent the past year photographing in a completely new way. I even made time to utilize my new process while living abroad in Rome for two months. Not only was I able to test my newly acquired skills this year, but also come to terms with what I really want from my creative work.

My most audacious goal is to become the greatest photographer of all time. As crazy as it sounds, this has always been something I aspired towards since day one. It is also a goal for me to share my ideas around street photography and help others that are interested.

At this point, I am just getting started. I look at my past ten years of photographing as merely practice. There’s only onwards and upwards from here.
