Photography is a universal language

Photography can be understood across the entire world. Photographs transcend cultural differences and language barriers. Just like dance and music, photography can bring people together regardless of their background.

A photo is pure

A photograph is pure because the power lies in its simple nature. Photographs are easy to read, and can strike an emotional response in a viewer. There’s no gimmicks or tricks involved. It’s light on surface that has the power to transcend moments that can live on forever. There’s something special about a photograph, and the way they can explain things that words cannot.

It’s a gift to be shared

Humanity will forever cherish photographs. When I think of photography and the relationship humans have to photographs, I am reminded of my grandmother. She cherished the memories of her friends and had so many images of them on her nightstand by her bed. The way she displayed the photographs was with much pride. You could tell that she really cared about the people in the photographs and that they meant a lot to her. My grandmother had a very full life with lots of friends and the photographs helped her stay connected to those people after they passed away.

Love of life

In a world that is becoming more divided than ever, perhaps photography can bring humanity together. Through the work that we create, we can display our love for life. Photographs have the power to resonate across all cultures because it allows the viewers to take a peek into a brief moment in time that they would never see otherwise. The photographs we make shape the perception of history and the way that we understand the world around us. I believe it’s the duty of the photographer to champion the human experience and uplift it to great heights! The photographs that we make will outlive us and give people from other cultures all around the world a better understanding of the multifaceted complexities of what it means to be alive on this beautiful planet.
