Strive to create beautiful art from a state of pure joy

The world doesn’t need another tormented artist.

Why does this matter?

I believe it’s easier to see negativity within life and the world itself. It takes more curiosity and courage to find beauty in humanity, nature, and society at large. The city can oftentimes feel bleak and dull through the lens of a tormented soul. You’ll hear constant complaints from these people about the simplest things like the street being too crowded or an event being boring or the light not being good enough. In order to combat this, we must return to the childlike perspective. Find wonder in the most mundane things on the streets, in your town, village, wherever you may be! The world needs more beautiful art. The world needs to see what life is like through the lens of a pure soul filled with joy.

Life isn’t about being happy

You oftentimes hear that life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows and that the struggle is real. I get that, but when it comes to the creation of artwork, it seems that it’s best done through a joyous state. If you’re feeling depressed, or unhappy, I actually believe that you should refrain from making pictures. This may seem counterintuitive, but I think that in order to transcend, and go beyond with our work, we must strive for the greatest state of being to make things. The old romanticism of the tormented artist is no longer cool. Let’s make smiling cool again! Let’s create new work when we are excited and curious. It’s easy to feel animosity. It requires more courage to be optimistic.

If you’re unhappy, focus on your physiology

I find that the antidote to unhappiness is fitness and physiology. When you focus on your health at the forefront, everything else seems to fall into place. This is a great thing! We are all in control of our destiny and our fate when you think about it. If you actually set the time aside to exercise, get good sleep, eat good food, you will inevitably feel happy. I actually believe that the hormonal imbalances, and the physiological effects of certain actions goes along way. The point is, before you create new work, focus on your physiology. Then you can make beautiful art from this state of pure joy!
