Cubicle –

The word “cubicle” originates from the Latin word “cubiculum,” which means a sleeping chamber or bedroom. Over time, its meaning evolved to refer to any small, enclosed space. The term “cubiculum” itself comes from “cubare,” meaning to lie down. In English, “cubicle” started to be used around the 15th century, initially referring to bed chambers and later expanding to mean a small, partitioned space in an office or other setting. This evolution reflects the change in how the spaces were used, from places of rest to areas of work.
