To photograph is to remember

The powerful act of making pictures. There’s something so special about this medium.

Memory and consciousness

When I consider my photographs, I think of them as a stream of becoming. Looking at photographs in consecutive order throughout the many years of traveling and photographing, you are fueled with this feeling of wonder and awe.

Wow- isn’t life so grand? I can’t believe I witnessed this. I experienced that. I went there.

What separates us from animals is perhaps our evolved consciousness. It makes humanity so special and fragile at the same time. The only thoughts that we have of the past rely on memory itself. It’s almost as if it’s an illusion, time. However, photographing every day for a lifetime allows you to experience life outside of this passage of time.
