Under a tree
Birds stare back at me
I fix my gaze on what is green
The apex of beauty
Perfect shade, cool breeze
Peeling bark, imperfection
I see my face in the reflection
As I look into the river
My perception makes me shiver
Paradise is what I see
The sun peers through the leaves
Spiders move so quickly
I now wield the flaming sword
Should I create or destroy?
Mundane life is where I thrive
Outside the passage of time
I take a peek at what’s underneath
Ants live here, a colony
They may have nothing to say
But each ant has a role to play
Birds in flight, like a dance
The chirping sounds, put me in a trance
My back fits so perfectly
Upon this tall, looming tree
