Why make photographs?

My answer has nothing to do with photography as a medium.

For me, photography has more to do with giving life more meaning through the creation of art and fueling my curiosity through exploration.

I photograph because I lust for life. I desire more human experiences in the physical world. I seek new opportunities to learn and explore each day with a camera in hand.

When I’m walking the streets in the open world I exist outside the passage of time. I find myself in a stream of becoming through each photo I make, simply existing in the now. Photography is a meditative practice of recognizing the patterns in both nature and human behavior. I treat the world as my canvas and allow serendipity to take over.
