I got my cape on!
I think that photography is a superpower because it allows you to find beauty in the mundane. You wind up finding joy in everyday moments that otherwise go unnoticed. The process of making pictures allows you to transcend time itself and create your own world.
Why does this matter?
To me, the ultimate bore is to be indoors. With this modern lifestyle of urban cities, 75% of the time people spend inside. To thrive, I believe you should be outside with fresh air under the sun. When I photograph, it allows me to be in a state of production and movement. This state of moving my body, physically through the world, and recognizing every day life, allows me to extract from life and create something out of nothing. It’s unlike any other medium of creating art. The camera becomes the key to unlock endless doors in life. The supreme superpower is experiencing and bearing witness to life itself.
Champion humanity
When it’s all set and done, the things we leave behind are what we have left of humanity. Creating beautiful works of art is the greatest gift humanity can leave behind. I believe in the notion that creating art is the supreme state of being as a human. Just think, say you are a billionaire… What are you to do with all of your money and time? Are you going to buy a big mansion and remain hidden in the ivory tower? No… the goal is to be out in the real world, experiencing life to its fullest potential. No amount of money, fame, etc. can provide you this.
When you make pictures, drawing, architecture, sculptures, etc. you are creating something, that is unique to the human experience. This is important because the more we advance with technology and merge with the machine, the less human we will be.
Endless bliss
With a camera in hand, it’s impossible to fall into a depression. With a simple click of a shutter button, you’re able to move through life with curiosity. At the end of the day, I’m merely curious.
How curious can one be in a lifetime?
