CURIOSITY

“Curiosity” refers to a strong desire to know or learn something. It’s a quality related to inquisitiveness, often manifested as a keen interest in exploration, discovery, and learning.
Etymologically, “curiosity” comes from the Latin word “curiositas,” which means a desire for knowledge, inquisitiveness. This, in turn, derives from “curiosus” meaning “careful” or “diligent,” and ultimately from “cura,” meaning “care.” The term evolved in Middle English to mean “careful attention to detail” and “desire to know or learn.” Over time, its focus shifted more towards the eagerness to learn and know about the world.
