Why photography?
Photography is what keeps me curious about life itself. Making photographs grounds me in the now, finding beauty in every fleeting moment. It’s what affirms life for me and helps give deeper meaning and appreciation for my everyday life.
How to stay motivated?
I believe in in order to stay motivated to consistently make pictures each, and every day, you must return to the childlike state of curiosity. Every day, start from day one. Returning to the amateur snapshot and painting with light and shadow has been my solution to fueling my curiosity.
Detach yourself from the outcome
Recognize that photography has nothing to do with the pictures. It’s the journey and the process that matters most. If you can find joy in making an effort to practice every day consider yourself successful
What is a photograph?
I believe that the photographs you make are merely a byproduct of your experiences. I personally do not actively go outside, searching for photographs. I let life flow towards me, and the pictures will reveal themselves to me over time. I don’t believe that there’s any such thing as good or bad pictures. My thought is that your photographs are a reflection of your lust for life.
