Testing Apple Vision Pro

My initial thoughts

The Apple Vision Pro is very intuitive and easy to use. It’s a sleek piece of technology that is sexy, but cumbersome. I believe it’s a bit too big and won’t be widely adopted just yet. However, using eye tracking to move my eyes around the device and using simple gestures, like flicking my fingers together to open applications, was very intriguing. Viewing photographs, and zooming in on the detail at large scale was mind blowing. Perhaps virtual galleries in the future will be some sort of hybrid augmented reality using technology like this. I found that viewing photography and video was the most compelling. I appreciate how you can either choose to fully immerse yourself and block out the rest of the world, or allow your desktop to sit right in front of you on whatever table or surface is there. Ultimately, I find this device to be interesting going forward into the future with spatial computing that maybe will have some use cases that benefit humanity. My critique is that this should not be used sitting down and should be outside in the world in a park somewhere in fresh air.

Somebody needs to do street photography with this thing.

Welcome to Orwell’s world baby! We’re living in the most interesting time to be alive…

Don’t buy anything?

The masses have an insatiable appetite for novelty through concerts, events, bars, Starbucks, and superfluous clothing options.
